NHS And Private Dental Care In Acton
Our Acton patients have choices to suit their own needs.
The Acton Vale Dental Centre provides local patients with a choice of both NHS and private dental care. We believe that it is important to serve our local patients and to enable them to maintain a good standard of oral health. Anyone who has read the news will know that it may not be as easy to access NHS dentistry as it once was, but it still plays an important and significant role in the nation’s health.
Keeping teeth and gums healthy not only means that the patient has pain free and functional teeth but increasingly, the medical profession seems to agree, may also contribute to better general health too. Even the economy is likely to function better when people have healthy teeth and gums with fewer days taken off for problems. Even a niggling toothache can slow you down, making you less productive.
NHS dentistry
So what is provided when you are an NHS dental patient with us? Essentially, this provides you with the necessary care to have a functional and healthy mouth. Check ups are an incredibly important part of this process and we encourage our patients not to skip their appointments and if you do need to cancel, to give us as much notice as possible and to make a new appointment at the same time to avoid it falling ‘off the radar’.
Missing an appointment may mean that what might be relatively minor issues such as a small amount of tooth decay, can be filled with a small filling. Missing an appointment and not making a prompt one to replace it may mean that this becomes worse and may eventually require a larger filling or even a crown. If you skip your appointments altogether, your decay is likely to remind you in a very painful way that you really shouldn’t have done that! Don’t wait for a painful toothache to strike and make sure that you have routine dental care on a regular basis.
We will also routinely take x-rays and/or digital scans to ensure that there are no problems that can’t be visibly seen and will also offer advice on how to avoid gum disease and maintain healthy gums.
Private dentistry
Private dental care offers the same benefits as NHS dentistry and much more. Unfortunately, NHS dental care funding only allows treatments for essential care and anyone wishing to have more complex procedures such as dental implant placement or who requires cosmetic treatments to enable them to have a nicer and more confident smile, will need to see us privately.
It is for this reason that more and more people are opting for private dentistry in order to have an ‘all round’ dental care programme that enables them to not only have a healthy mouth but the ability to have a more attractive smile as well.
Inevitably, private dental care costs more but we do all that we can to help our Acton patients pay for their treatments with a number of affordable treatment plans and 0% finance (T&C apply). We hope that our patients find that this enables them to receive the treatment that they need, and want.
Private dental treatments
There is a long list of treatments that you can have if you pay privately available on our website, but the following are some of the most popular.
White fillings – You no longer have to have those dark coloured amalgam fillings that can be visible when you laugh or smile. Improvements have been made over the years to ensure that these white teeth fillings offer a high degree of strength,
Teeth whitening – Perhaps the best known and most popular cosmetic dental treatment. This non-invasive procedure can really give your smile a fantastic boost.
Porcelain veneers – For anyone with heavily stained teeth, dental veneers may provide a better option for a whiter and more attractive smile.
Dental implants – With implants you will no longer have to worry about your false teeth moving around as can happen with dentures for some people. Eating trickier food is also straightforward as dental implants are the closest thing to a natural tooth experience currently available.
Orthodontics
No more metal braces when you go private. Modern almost invisible systems are now available for anyone looking to have their teeth straightened in a convenient and discrete manner.
These are just a few of the treatments available privately to enable you to have an expansive oral care regime. Our team of friendly dentists at Acton Vale Dental Centre is always happy to discuss your dental needs with you and make recommendations and put an action plan into place.
If you would like to book with us as an NHS or a private dental patient, simply give us a call on 020 8749 3267. Please note that NHS places are not always available due to their popularity and you may be asked to join a waiting list before we can see you.
